Also included is a teacher's note to explain how to bridge this into an optional discussion, depending on how much time you have. I have appreciated getting students thinking deeper before reading. I find that these statements often come up during the unit in class discussions or writings. Some quotes may be familiar to students, and that truly grabs their attention as well.
